 Students are currently reading Chapter 5 of Night. They are reviewing key concepts and creating a list of words that Elie uses to paint a picture of his horrible experiences in Concentration Camps.

 Students are currently reading the scene in where Romeo meets Juliet. They will also learn more about the Elizabethan Culture and how it affects the story.

Writers' Workshop

 Students are learning how to apply conjunctions correctly to their sentences using the strategy of FAN BOYS.It will help prevent them from writing sentences that begin with conjunctions so frequently.

 Students will continue to read Romeo and Juliet and examine literary elements in the plot. They will also look into the cultural/historical background of the story and discover how it is a reflection of the time in which Shakespeare lived.

 Students will continue to read Night and examine the characters in the story that actually existed in real life such as Dr. Mengele. It helps them put the novel into historical perspective and understand better the plight of Jews during the Holocaust.
